trilogy

so a week ago i went on a retreat called trilogy. it was a bunch of norcal schools such as ucdavis and also smaller even some community colleges. what was awesome was the tract we were part of. since it was my first time i was part of the DOC tract. disciples on campus. basically the message was about witnessing on campus and i realized how little of that i have done. there's a lot to share about but i guess i'll just share whats impacted me the most from this conference.

one thing i found really helpful was the "4 monsters of evangelism." it sounds weird but i found it pretty cool. basically these monsters are the things that keep of from witnessing to others. the 4 categories are readiness, time, lifestyle and shame. i believe you guys know a bit about them like "oh i dont know enough" or "i dont think its the right time to" but yeah basically what i found really awesome about this was that it was seen as a monster. for me a monster was something that i could physically beat. [hope you like this analogy elijah :P] i saw it sorta like a mission in a video game. there was this monster and i had to defeat it. i had all the best equipment "the armor of God" but i myself, the player are always weak to begin with so what do you do? you have to train and train yourself to become stronger. some battles you win and some you dont but you have to keep on going until you defeat the monster. haha sounds weird i know but it was really awesome. another amazing thing that took me a while to realize was that we're not alone. we shouldnt have to be alone when we witness, there are plenty of brothers and sisters of Christ around us.

i guess as a reflection from this conference was about me roommate, raymond, and my friend michael. they're both nonchristians and dont have any backgrounds to it. i just felt that God has placed a responsibility for me to witness to them because i havent during frosh year. im living with the same roommate again and i was like wow God really wants me to witness to raymond. at first i wasnt going to room with him but something happened and i got him again haha. well raymond is the type of person who takes a long time to get through to him. like when i help him with ochem and stuff i have to explain many times before he understands and he's a really loose guy. i think this makes it so much harder on me haha. but yeah we've talked a little about his spiritual background but it wasnt much. he's not really into religions [so he says] and he just lives life from day to day haha. michael has shown a lot more interest and has gone to church and large group a few times. he's been reading the bible and trying to understand it. however, he's struggling with school because he doesnt want to be here. his parents are basically forcing him to and he feels that isnt what he wants to do. it seems like he doesnt know what to do with his life. i know i wrote A LOT haha but i just ask you guys to pray for me that i would be able to get through to them. both of them are really great friends and im gonna be spending a lot of time with them in the future [since they're also pre-dents haha] but yeah.

DANG i wrote way more than expected haha.. well about me, school is school that part never changes haha. im sorry to say i wont be going home this year for thanksgiving... :[ but i will during winter haha! hope to see you guys soon and you should come visit me hehe :P
