1 Samuel 1

While i was reading 1 samuel, the thing that really struck me was how awesome Hannah really was. She came to God with her problem and followed through on her promise with no regret. It wasnt only following through, but the fact that she never wavered and never considered to go back on her word.
Another thing was that you really see God's faithfulness and justice. He knew how Peninnah was getting the short end so he closed Hannah's womb (doesn't that sound very similar to leah and rachel?). However, he went both ways as he also find how Hannah is now getting shafted by Peninnah, the person that he had shown mery to (sound familiar to the parable of the evil servant?)
However, i think the really new thing i found out was the love of Elkanah. Granted, he didn't treat Peninnah real nice. But how great is his love for Hannah, he knew her pain and did everything to try to help her and even supported her decision and plan to give Samuel to Eli. Guys, we need to learn from this dude. like for real. Thats how we gotta treat our lady folk.

John 1

So John 1 was pretty interesting

While i was reading, it was like man... this is really the entire gospel in the first 18 verses. It not only covered the beginning of the world but also the redemption that was to come and the reaction of the world after. I mean it really shows the glory of God throughout the beginning but what i really wanna talk about are the calling of the first disciples. I mean I know we talk about oooo look they got up and followed Christ right away but I mean it's not only that but like in verses 37-42 it shows that they were not only willing but they were expecting, seeking the Christ. I mean look at that dedication. They were seeking for the Messiah whom they didn't even know would come or would ever come! They jumped it automatically because they had ALREADY PREPARED themselves for it. Just imagine if we had our hearts prepared for Jesus. Just imagine how he'd fulfill John 1:30-31
